About die Lehrerin
This started off as being a blog about educational technology, inquiry learning, and education in general, but as the blog grew and changed, what inspires me to write is not necessarily something that happened in my classroom.
In a way this blog is a place for me to post what inspires me. It is a place to keep my reflections on lessons learned in the classroom or observations I’ve made about living outside my home country. It is my collection of things that have gone through my brain, whether an insight into teaching, or thoughts on a German or American cultural phenomenon.
I have a Masters in Educational Technology and have been teaching English Literature and the Humanities for over 20 years both in public and private schools in the US and in Germany. Currently I am the Blended and Online Learning Coordinator and teacher at a large International School in Germany and an online instructor and Learning Design Coach for Global Online Academy. My students come from over 30 countries and range in ages from 6th to 11th grades.
I see from your About page that you’re in education. Thanks for Liking my post about dyslexia in my nephew. I’m interested in your thoughts about it, being that you work in the field.
I will post my comments on your post.
Hi there,
We came across your blog and would love to publish a couple of your articles on our site. We’re an expat portal (Expatica.com) focused on international living in Europe, and some of your topics would be perfect for our expat audience (about 1.5million hits per months across our 11 sites). If it sounds like something you’d be interested, I’d love to hear from you at casey.marriott@expatica.com.
Kind regards,

I emailed you about this. Did you not get my email? I am happy to let you post the above in exchange for the promotion of my blog.
Hi Kathleen – Thanks for your reply. I didn’t get your email unfortunately! Can you please email me again and CC. caseymarriott@gmail.com (just in case), so I can gather your bio blurb details etc to accompany your posts.
Thanks!
Casey
Well, at least we know who the NSA will be listening to now. Just remember to talk in code every once in a while to throw them off.
And remember: “The donkey rides at midnight!”
They’ve been on my tail since 2009.
I’ve enjoyed reading what you have to say; a times, you’ve inspired me to complete a post, write something I wouldn’t otherwise write, or just see things in a different way. Therefore, I’d like to nominate you for the Most Influential Blogger Award. You can read more about it here. I understand if you choose not to accept (or if you’ve already received the award), but I wanted you to know that your writing influences me. Thanks for everything to write!
I will try to get you a poster from legoland. Would the kids like that? or it to juvenile for them? Let me know.
We have a Legoland here. And I think my kids are starting to get a little old for that. But what a thoughtful gesture, thank you. 🙂
Interesting blog! What area of Germany are you located in?
The middle. If you breeze around the blog, you’ll probably figure it out. 🙂
Just wanted to say that I love the snowflakes you’re got on here! At first I was like “hey, what’s up with my screen?!” But then I quickly realized they were snowflakes on your site and smiled 😀
